Convention on Education - Students

Invitation to apply to Take Part in the Convention on Education

Dear student,

In 2026 the Department of Education and Youth will hold the Convention on Education  a series of meetings where lots of people will share ideas to make education better for everyone. It is hoped these meetings will help decide what schools will be like for many years to come. The Convention will include a group of 30 children and young people aged 8-24. If you are between 8 and 24 years old you can fill out this form to say you’d like to join, but if you are under 18 you will need permission from a parent or guardian.

If you are picked, you will go to meetings on four weekends in 2026 in March, May, September and November.

More information about the Convention on Education and how it will work can be found at gov.ie/educationconvention

If you are interested in applying to take part, please fill out this form  Convention on Education expression of interest form for children and young people – Fill out form

Filling out the form doesn’t mean you will definitely be chosen, but it shows you want to help.
