The Cara Aires are a group of 5th and 6th year students who are wellbeing ambassadors in Adamstown Community College.
The application form is open for any 5th year students who are interested in joining our Cara Aire program. It will close on Thursday, 30th September. The application form can be found here.
They are responsible for working to promote a safe, anti-bullying culture in the school. The Cara Aires are a fantastic team of student leaders who are willing to lend an ear and a smile as they are available for any students to speak to if they need advice. They work very hard throughout the year to develop student initiatives to promote positive mental health such as ''Wellbeing Week,'' ''Social Inclusion Week,'' ''Orange Day,'' in conjunction with Cycle Against Suicide, as well as other events throughout the year.
The Cara Aires work closely with the local community with organisations such as Jigsaw, and they have raised over €1,500 for Pieta House. Thanks to the Cara Aire's hard work, Adamstown Community College has earned four consecutive awards for being an Ambassador School for the Cycle Against Suicide as they promote the message, "It's OK not to be OK and it's absolutely OK to ask for help.''
Additionally, Adamstown Community College has been chosen as a pilot school for the ''Headstrong Programme,'' which aims to end the stigma around mental health.
